Gov. Buni Takes Giant Stride To Restore Power To Damaturu, Environs
Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has taken a giant stride toward restoring electric power to Damaturu and its environs after an outage as a result of vandalised KVA towers in the state.
The state government in a press release signed by the Yobe State Secretary to the Government, Baba Mallam Wali, said: “As a result of power outage in Damaturu and Environs.
“Governor Mai Mala Buni has contacted the Federal Government for the reconstruction of the vandalised KVA towers.
“The TCN has already been awarded the contract for the reconstruction of the affected towers.“
The statement added that: “Meanwhile to provide alternative power to Damaturu and Environs.
Mai Mala Buni has directed the R.E.B and YEDC to restore the 33KV line from Potiskum to Damaturu with immediate effect.’
The governor enjoined the general public to kindly exercise patience as the Government is doing everything possible to address the situation, while also calling on them to continue to pray for peace and progress of the state and the country at large.
