Gov. Buni Advocates For Harmonious Military-Civilian Relationship
Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has called for a more harmonious military-civilian relationship in Gashua to promote regional peace.
According to Mamman Mohammed, DG, Press and Media Affairs, Buni issued the directive as a result of a misunderstanding between the two parties.
He described the incident as unfortunate, as it occurred at a time when the state is experiencing relative peace throughout the state.
“It is sad and regrettable that lives are lost in a preventable situation.
“Gov. Buni expressed dismay over the recurring incident in Gashua, stating that the state government would meet with military authorities to find a permanent solution to such threats to the relationship.”
“We should always be united to fight our common enemy, not adversaries to ourselves,” the governor warned.
He emphasised that the military and residents have mutual responsibilities to achieve collective success.
The governor prayed for the souls of the deceased and expressed condolences to their families.
He directed free treatment for those injured in the accident and admitted to the Specialist Hospital in Gashua.
