Yobe Killing: APC Visits Damaturu, Calls For Government/Security Synergy
Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged the government and security agencies to strengthen their existing collaboration to effectively combat the threat of terrorism and banditry.
Ganduje made the call on Thursday in Damaturu, while leading the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) in expressing condolences to the government and people of Yobe state following the unfortunate recent attack on Mafa village by Boko Haram insurgents, which killed scores.
Ganduje stated that the NWC was in the state to support the government and people of the state during this trying time of the callous attack and senseless killing of innocent people.
He stated, “We are part of the Yobe family; we feel the pain and sorrow suffered by the government and people of Yobe state, and we are here to condole with our brothers and sisters in this very sad incident.”
He urged the government and security agencies to work together more effectively to combat the threat.
He consoled the victims’ families, expressing hope that the state would soon recover through God’s special grace.
Hon. Mai Mala Buni, Governor of Yobe State, praised the NCW for standing with the state’s government and people in the aftermath of the tragic incident.
He stated: “This visit gives us a sense of belonging; we feel cared for by the party and its leadership.
“On behalf of the government and the good people of Yobe State, I thank you for coming.”
He assured that his administration would cooperate to improve synergy with the security agencies.
The Governor assured that the state government would continue to assist the army, police, other security organisations, and the vigilante group in beefing up security throughout the state.
