Excitement As EEDC Restores Electricity Supply In Parts Of Anambra After Facility Maintenance

There were wide jubilations in some parts of Anambra state, particularly in the commercial city of Onitsha as authorities of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company,  EEDC PLC  eventually restored power supply in some parts of Anambra state, following completion of the planned maintenance of its facilities by the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, at the GCM 132KV/33KV Station, which led to few days of power outage.

Head of EEDC Corporate Communications, Emeka Ezeh who disclosed this in a press statement issued to newsmen via WhatsApp, said currently, all the affected 33KV feeders are in service, and electricity supply has been restored to customers.

He recalled that over the weekend, EEDC notified her customers in Anambra State of a planned outage to enable the TCN engineers to carry out maintenance activities on their facility, an exercise which he noted resulted in the shutting down of the 60MVA power transformer at the GCM station in the commercial city of Onitsha

According to the statement, “We appreciate our esteemed customers for their patience and understanding during the period of the outage and we assure them of our continued commitment to providing them with quality service”.

Electricity consumers in various parts of the state, including Onitsha, Nkpir Odekpe had been thrown into wide jubilations as soon as the power supply was restored on Wednesday.
