2026 WCQ: Unuanel Optimistic Super Eagles Will Triumph Over Lesotho In Uyo

Ex-Kwara United coach Samson Unuanel believes the Super Eagles will defeat Lesotho in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Remember that Nigeria will play Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Thursday, November 16, 2023.

Unuanel told Completesports.com that the Super Eagles will go for maximum points against Lesotho.

He also pushed the technical staff to field players capable of carrying out the game’s instructions.

“This is one game the Super Eagles will be hoping to approach with a winning mentality because it’s the opening game.

“Again, I am very optimistic Nigeria will triumph over Lesotho considering the calibre of players at our disposal.

“Missing out from the 2022 World Cup still hurt a lot of the players and they will want to rewrite history book.”

According to CAF, winners of each Group will automatically qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The four best runners-up (from the Groups) will play in a CAF Play-Off tournament.

The winner of the CAF Play-Off Tournament will play in the FIFA Play-off Tournament to potentially be the 10th African nation.
