According to Channels Television, the school’s Vice Principal (Academics), Tsokwa Sani, revealed that the incident that led to his stabbing began with an inter-house inspection that was disturbed by an ex-student who invaded the school to sign a form.

“Trouble started when a former student accompanied his colleague to school to sign a Nigeria Air Force form.”We usually perform inter-house inspections on Thursdays, and during the process, the stated former students invaded the school and attempted to disrupt, so one of them withdrew and stood back, and urged the other to withdraw and apologise because they were in the school for a reason. The former pupil declined, stating that he could not withdraw or apologise.

“In the process, the teacher flogged the former student, asking that they should leave the school premises which led to an upheaval that the students reacted by shouting at the former students and they subsequently left the school premises.”We typically close around 1:40 p.m., so around 1:20 p.m. I was reliably informed that the former students had reassembled with several touts and were hiding out until the teacher appeared.”

“Upon receiving such information, we asked that he not step out on foot but rather be taken out in a colleague’s vehicle, a decision he declined, stating that the former students cannot stand him in a battle,” he continued.
