Emefiele In Court, Pleads Not Guilty,  Asks For Bail

Godwin Emefiele, the suspended head of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), entered a not-guilty plea on Tuesday at the Federal High Court in Lagos to a charge of illegally possessing a firearm.

He was accused of two offenses related to alleged gun possession by the Department of State Services (DSS).

Emefiele is charged with violating Section 4 of the Firearms Act and Section 27 (1b) of the same Act for allegedly possessing a single-barrel shotgun (JOJEFF MAGNUM 8371) without a license in the first count.
