Anyim Congratulates Zanna Mustapha On CNN Top 10 Heroes Award
Nigeria’s former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim, has congratulated his bossom friend and humanitarian activist, Zanna Bukar Mustapha, on his nomination among the top 10 Heroes of the Cable Network News (CNN).
Mustapha, the founder of a Maiduguri-based humanitarian education and empowerment center, is the director of FUTURE PROWESS ISLAMIC FOUNDATION, set up to deal with the challenges brought about by the Boko Haram violent insurgency in the North East geo-political zone.
Anyim, the frontline presidential candidate ahead 2023 general election, in his congratulatory message dated Saturday, December 18, 2021, described Zanna Mustapha’s recognition by CNN as one of the top global heroes, as an honour “merited”, especially on account of his “uniqueness as a lover of humanity without boundaries”.
Anyim stated that he was so impressed by the video clips of the colourful event of Zanna’s recognition, which he said, gives him a new “understanding of the dimensions of how rewards for selfless service could come”.
The former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) however commended Mustapha in a glowing tribute: “Your recognition by CNN shows that though your services may be hidden in one corner of the globe, as long as it promotes humanity, it will be recognised across the globe.
“When you started the school – Future Prowess Islamic Foundation, you never intended it for any special recognition. You were rather driven only by your passion to identify with the needs of humanity. But today, God who gave you the heart to serve humanity has rewarded you openly. I am so excited and proud to be associated you.
“Congratulations, my brother. May the Almighty Allah continue to uphold and elevate you as you serve humanity”, Anyim stated.
However, the institution, FUTURE PROWESS ISLAMIC FOUNDATION, that brought the CNN’s global recognition to Zanna Mustapha as one of the top ten (10) Heroes, is an Islamic Educational Center which has a mission of specifically dealing with the problems of meeting with the psychological, educational, spiritual and other developmental needs of children and widows so affected by the armed insurgency, particularly in the North East zone of Nigeria.
The Foundation admits orphans and fully engage widows in livelihood capacity building and in income generating activities. It specifically undertakes the rehabilitation and resettlement of vulnerable groups of children, largely orphans and widows in need of humanitarian support.
Other intervention initiatives of the Foundation includes solving the challenges of health, child labour, hunger, illiteracy, disease, poverty, capacity building and empowerment programme for the widows, especially those in displacement.
The Foundation is in partnership with so many organizations and agencies such as – the UNHCR, UNICEF, ICRC, the Borno State Government, the Presidential Committee on the North East Initiative (PCNI), the University of Maiduguri and the Federal Neural Hospital. #
