Insecurity: Anambra Woman Pleads For Help In Locating Missing Husband, Vehicle
By Chuks Eke
MaryCynthia Ogechukwu Nnanyelugo is desperately seeking answers and assistance in the disappearance of her husband, Hyginus Arinze Nnanyelugo, who was allegedly abducted along with his vehicle on July 11, 2024, in Onitsha.
According to Mrs. Nnanyelugo, the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Onoja Oboli Street, opposite Modebe Secondary School, in Odoakpu, Onitsha.
She claims that heavily armed gunmen intercepted her husband while he was driving his gold Lexus RX 300 Jeep with Registration No. FGG 693 HC. He has not been seen or heard from since.
“This has been a nightmare for me and the entire Nnanyelugo family,” Mrs. Nnanyelugo stated, appealing to security agencies to help find her husband, “dead or alive.”
She expressed deep concern over the prolonged absence and the uncertainty surrounding his fate.
In an affidavit sworn to on July 16, 2024, at the Law Chambers of Sir Ben Chudi Izuegbu Esq., and made available to the press, Mrs. Nnanyelugo detailed the alleged abduction.
She stated that her husband was on his way home to No. 36 Sanniez Street, Odoakpu, Onitsha, when the abductors, reportedly operating with a tricycle, blocked his vehicle and forcibly took him and the Lexus Jeep.
Mrs. Nnanyelugo provided the vehicle’s Engine No. as 1MZ*4371507 and its Chassis No. as MCU10-0052334, urging security personnel to utilize this information in their search.
She emphasized the distress his absence has caused and the misfortune that has befallen the family since his disappearance.
A police extract obtained at Fegge Police Division on July 12, 2024, confirmed the report of the missing person and vehicle.
The extract details the alleged abduction, mirroring Mrs. Nnanyelugo’s account of the tricycle double-crossing her husband and the subsequent disappearance.
To further substantiate her claims, Mrs. Nnanyelugo presented a receipt from Radio Sapientia, dated July 23, 2024, showing a payment of N35,000 for spot announcements regarding the abduction, solidifying her efforts to publicize the incident and seek assistance.
Authorities have yet to issue a statement on the ongoing investigation. Mrs. Nnanyelugo and the Nnanyelugo family are appealing to anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Hyginus Arinze Nnanyelugo or his vehicle to contact the nearest police station immediately.
They hope for a swift resolution and the safe return of Mr. Nnanyelugo.
