Tinubu Commends NDDC MD, Urges Youth To Drive Nigeria’s Development
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu today praised the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, for his efforts in developing the Niger Delta region.
Speaking at the State House during the inauguration of the Planning Committee for the National Youth Congress, President Tinubu publicly commended Dr. Ogbuku, stating, “Dr. Ogbuku of NDDC is here. I commend your efforts. You are doing very well.”
In a statement by Seledi Thompson-Wakama, Director, Corporate Affairs, this commendation follows a similar one made on July 12, 2024, at the Niger Delta Stakeholders Summit in Port Harcourt, where President Tinubu, represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, lauded the NDDC Board and Management for their collaborative work in accelerating development in the oil-rich region.
The President’s address focused heavily on empowering Nigerian youth, emphasizing their crucial role in the nation’s future.
“You are the hope of this country,” Tinubu declared to the newly inaugurated committee. “Everything hangs on your future.
” The Government of the day is all about you. You represent over 60% of our population; you’re the heartbeat of our nation. Take this opportunity very seriously.”
Acknowledging the country’s ongoing economic challenges, President Tinubu expressed confidence in Nigeria’s recovery.
He extended an open invitation to the youth, urging them to voice their concerns and suggestions for national progress.
“Look at me in the face, tell me whatever you think is wrong and how you want things done,” he said. “We’ll try to implement all of it as long as it is for the prosperity of this country.”
The President encouraged the National Youth Congress committee to utilize technology and explore avenues to enhance agriculture, youth entrepreneurship, and national food security.
