NDDC Pays Condolences To Family Of Late Chief Edwin Clark
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has expressed its deep sorrow over the death of Chief Edwin Clark, a prominent Niger Delta leader and nationalist.
A delegation led by NDDC Managing Director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku paid condolences to the Clark family in Abuja.
Clark was described by Ogbuku as a “rare gem” who worked tirelessly to promote national unity and the Niger Delta region.
He emphasised Clark’s significant contributions to regional development, particularly his role in establishing the NDDC.
“His advocacy helped to establish the NDDC, an interventionist agency tasked with facilitating the rapid development of the Niger Delta region,” Ogbuku explained.
He also recognised Clark’s leadership of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), an important socio-cultural organisation that brings together the region’s various ethnic groups.
The NDDC MD also described Clark’s death as the loss of a “guiding light,” praising his wisdom and courage.
He described the late leader as a true patriot and an outspoken advocate for justice.
The visit, Ogbuku emphasised, demonstrated the NDDC’s commitment to assisting the Niger Delta people in both happy and difficult times.
Prof. College Clark, head of the Clark family, thanked the NDDC for their visit and support, and praised the delegation for sharing their grief.
He saw the gesture as a sign of love and respect for those who helped to develop the Niger Delta.
