Governor Zulum Receives Prestigious Forbes Award For Leadership In Africa
Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Zulum has received the Forbes Magazine Best of Africa Leadership Excellence Award 2024.
Forbes is a global media company that covers business, investing, technology, entrepreneurship, leadership, and lifestyle.
Forbes Magazine’s “Best of Africa Leadership Excellence Award” honours leaders who demonstrate integrity, innovation, and impact.
Mr Steve Forbes, chairman of Integrated Whale Media Investments, which owns Forbes Magazine, presented the award on Friday at Forbes House in New York, United States of America.
Dr Mairo Mandara, Zulum’s Chief Adviser and Coordinator for Sustainable Development and Humanitarian Response, represented him at the event, as he was unable to attend due to the devastating flood that struck Maiduguri.
Zulum thanked the award organisers, saying, “I am deeply honoured to accept this award. We are proud of our accomplishments and confident that we can build on them to make an even bigger impact.”
Before now, Zulum have been conferred with Nigeria’s national honour as Commander of the Order of the Niger, CON, by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2022; President Mohammed Bazoum of the Republic of Niger in 2021, had decorated him with the country’s Second-Order of National Honour, “de Grand Officer Dans I`Ordre”, which is the equivalent of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, GCON, in Nigeria’s ranking of national honours.
