Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, an Igbo socio-cultural and political organisation, has announced that the burial rites for its late President General, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, will include Days of Tribute in Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, and Owerri.

Obi explained that the late Ahaejiagamba was a global citizen and a nationalist whose contributions to national development are legendary.

He added that Iwuanyanwu was a success story in diverse fields of human endeavours. But most importantly, he served the Igbo at an elderly age with utmost passion, dedication, and sincerity.

The programme also stated that there will be more elaborate ceremonies in Enugu, including the transportation of Chief Iwuanyanwu’s corpse to the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide headquarters at 7 Park Avenue, GRA, Enugu.

The Burial Committee assures that more information about the aforementioned events will be made available to the general public.

Senator Obi took advantage of the opportunity to express his delight that prominent individuals and groups have expressed an interest in paying tribute to the late Igbo leader.

He did, however, warn that the only authentic Burial Committee for Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu’s funeral has been established by the South East Governors Forum, which is led by His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, Imo State’s governor.

To avoid a clash of events and inappropriate channels, any other group planning an event commemorating Chief Iwuanyanwu’s funeral rites should contact the Central Burial Committee for clarification.
