Pastor Oladiyun Proposes Innovative Solutions To Nigeria’s Food Insecurity
Pastor Wole Oladiyun, Senior Pastor of Christ Livingspring Apostolic Ministry (CLAM), proposed implementing an agricultural model through local governments to address Nigeria’s growing hunger crisis.
Dr. Oladiyun reassured his congregation during his sermon that God is working to fix Nigeria. Although acknowledging the complexity of the nation’s challenges, he warned that repairing a flawed system takes time. He urged Nigerians to remain hopeful, as improvements are on the way.
Pastor Oladiyun’s proposal called for a local government model to improve food security. Given Nigeria’s 774 local government areas, he proposed that the federal government collaborate with the Africa Development Bank (AFDB) to launch a massive food production project in each of them.
The cleric advocated allocating a significant amount of land for agriculture in each local government. This would provide plenty of space for farming and agricultural activities across Nigeria.
He also emphasised the importance of AFDB providing funding and support for the project, such as machinery and intensive youth training.
To ensure the project’s success and security, Pastor Oladiyun proposed that the federal government set up a special community security force in each local government.
He also requested that the legislative branch pass the necessary bills and laws to enable the implementation of this agricultural initiative.
He proposed involving renowned agricultural institutions such as IITA, CRIN, FIIRO, and NIFOR to ensure the project’s expertise and knowledge.
The cleric believes Nigeria can achieve food security through the proposed model, but emphasises the need for the federal government to prioritise and commit to the project.
He assured Nigerians that the implementation of these initiatives would gradually lead to improved food security.
