Gov Radda Commends Military For ‘Neutralising’ Wanted Bandit Kingpin, Buhari Yadi, 30 Others
Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, the Executive Governor of Katsina State, has praised the Nigerian military for its successful operation that resulted in the elimination of notorious bandit leader Buhari Alhaji Halidu, also known as Buharin Yadi, and over 30 of his accomplices.
Dr. Nasir Mu’azu Danmusa, the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, revealed this on Friday while speaking with journalists in Katsina. He stated that the decisive action occurred during a targeted military operation spanning Katsina and Kaduna states.
He said the operation, which was coordinated with intelligence, targeted key areas in both states, including Katsina’s Dorawar Yan Kaji and Ginanna, as well as Kaduna’s Samunaka, Sirdi, and Kan Dawa. This enabled the military to locate and eliminate the terrorist kingpin and his lieutenants.
“Buharin Yadi, a long-time fugitive on the security wanted list, was known for his involvement in large-scale criminal activities such as kidnapping, cattle rustling, arms trafficking, and drug distribution.”
“His reign of terror has inflicted enormous hardship and fear upon communities in Katsina and throughout northwest Nigeria for nearly a decade,” the Commissioner claimed.
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, in response, praised the bravery and dedication of the Nigerian military personnel involved in the operation, emphasising their critical role in restoring peace and stability to the region.
The Governor expressed gratitude on behalf of the people of the region for their tireless efforts to protect lives and property from criminal elements, and reaffirmed support for ongoing efforts to eradicate criminal elements from the region.
He also urged communities to remain vigilant in their support of security agencies so that they can complete the onerous tasks.
