FIFA Ranking: Super Eagles Maintain Top Five Position
Ahead of the draw for the World Cup play-off scheduled for next month, the Super Eagles still retain their fifth position in the FIFA ranking released this Thursday.
Their fifth position was under serious threat as hot contenders; Egypt had a five-match schedule in the just concluded FIFA Arab Cup in Qatar.
Even though Egypt climbed up in the global ranking from 45th to 44th, while Nigeria remained static at 26th, it was not enough to upstage the Super Eagles from the continental fifth position and thus remain a seeded side in the draw for the World Cup final qualifiers.
The draw is expected to hold either on January 22rd or 26th.
