Sins Will Catch Up’: APC’s Eze Accuses Wike of Playing God With Amaechi’s Fate
Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a former spokesman for the New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) and a member of the APC Media Projects Legacy Team, has strongly criticised Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, accusing him of hubris and predicting that his “sins and atrocities” will eventually catch up with him.
Eze’s condemnation follows reported statements by Wike claiming that former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, would fail to secure the ADC Presidential ticket in 2027 and that Amaechi’s presidential ambition was “dead on arrival.”
“Since when did Wike become God, capable of determining or deciding the destiny or fate of any human being?” Eze questioned in a statement released Thursday.
“Honestly, my brother, you are pushing your luck too far. I caution you to moderate your utterances, as if you were an omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent God.”
Eze alleged that Wike is obsessed with Amaechi, feeling threatened by his continued presence in Nigerian politics.
He further stated that Wike, by his position in President Tinubu’s administration, has no right to interfere in the internal affairs of the ADC and dictate who it chooses as its presidential candidate.
“Wike is neither God nor a member of the ADC, so he cannot determine or decide the fate of Amaechi, or any other politician in the party, come 2027,” Eze asserted. He emphasised that Amaechi’s fate within the ADC will ultimately be decided by God and the party delegates, not Wike.
Eze diagnosed Wike as suffering from “Amaechcanism,” a self-defined “mental disorder” characterised by a desire for Amaechi’s downfall despite past benefits or a phobia about his political resurgence. He portrayed Wike as a “sad, confused, and demented betrayer,” urging Nigerians to pity him.
The APC chieftain also addressed Wike’s criticisms of Amaechi’s ability to combat corruption.
He defended Amaechi’s record as Governor and Minister, stating, “Considering how he managed the resources of Rivers State and curtailed all forms of corruption, I am convinced that, if Nigerians elect him, he possesses the qualities to end corruption in Nigeria.”
Eze dismissed Wike’s rehashed claims about the sale of gas turbines during Amaechi’s governorship as “petty,” reiterating that the transaction was properly budgeted for and approved by the Rivers State Assembly in 2014.
He accused Wike of being a “chronic liar and serial blackmailer” for repeatedly raising the issue despite knowing the facts.
Eze concluded by highlighting what he characterised as Wike’s hypocrisy, questioning why the EFCC has not investigated his government over alleged financial irregularities, especially now that he is part of the Tinubu administration.
