Stanley Nkwazema, a seasoned journalist and strategic communication expert, has been elected President of the Egbu Town Union (ETU) Abuja Chapter in a closely contested election held at the association’s monthly meeting. Nkwazema’s victory brings an end to the previous executive’s two-term leadership.

The Egbu Town Union represents the people of Egbu Kingdom, a distinct community in the South East region, east of the Niger. Egbu is famous for its unique, undisputed traditional stool.

Nkwazema, also an editorial board member of THE NEWSHAUS (www.thenewshaus.com), won decisively over his opponent, Mr. Chukwu Aribeana, who received only three votes.

The election, presided over by three former Presidents (Emeritus), Dr. Kemji Ajoku, Mr. Obinna Ajoku SAN, and Sir Henry Eteama (retired Director of the Nigeria Bureau of Statistics), saw a record turnout of members, the highest since the COVID-19 pandemic.
