Three Arrested For Vandalising Power Lines In Enugu State

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced the arrest of three people suspected of vandalising power lines in Agbogwugu, Enugu State, on Sunday, March 24, 2025.

According to a statement issued on Thursday by Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s General Manager, Public Affairs, the arrests were made possible by a collaborative effort between vigilant community members and law enforcement.

“This accomplishment is the result of a collaborative effort between community members and law enforcement officers,” the statement read.

The suspects were first detained at the Agbogwugu police station in Ozalla before being transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID). After their first court appearance, they were remanded to prison.

TCN officials are reportedly collaborating closely with the police to ensure that the perpetrators are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Mbah emphasised the importance of community vigilance and cooperation with security agencies in the fight against vandalism.

“We urge all host communities to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to security personnel or the TCN office closest to them.”

TCN’s spokesperson also claimed that vandalism of power infrastructure disrupts electricity supply, resulting in significant economic and social consequences.
