Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has expressed gratitude to the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) of Saudi Arabia for providing food assistance to vulnerable residents of the state.

The aid, distributed through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), arrived just days before the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan.

NEMA Director General, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, represented by the Director of Special Duties, Mrs. Fatima Kasim, revealed that KSrelief has partnered with NEMA since 2018, providing food aid to households affected by insecurity and other vulnerabilities across the country. This marks the first time Kebbi State has benefited from this partnership.

A total of 2,450 households across six local government areas – Birnin Kebbi, Dandi, Gwandu, Shonga, Argungu, and Augie – received 59.8-kilogram food baskets.

Each basket contained rice, beans, masa vita, cooking oil, and seasoning. The beneficiaries were identified through a profiling exercise conducted by NEMA in collaboration with the State Emergency Management Agency.
