Abuja, Nigeria – The Tinubu Media Support Group (TMSG) has dismissed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s criticism of the government’s $1 billion healthcare allocation as a ridiculous attempt to divert attention away from the PDP’s previous failures.

In a statement issued today, TMSG Chairman Emeka Nwankpa and Secretary Dapo Okubanjo accused Atiku of hypocrisy, claiming that his remarks about “snakes, termites, and monkeys” tampering with funds highlight the PDP’s own history of corruption.

The statement referred to the infamous 2016 JAMB scandal, in which N36 million was allegedly embezzled and a staff member claimed a snake swallowed the money.

TMSG emphasised that the incident occurred during the PDP administration and that the subsequent investigation and prosecution were carried out by the Buhari administration.

They claimed that Atiku’s remarks served only to remind Nigerians of the PDP’s “predilection for corruption.”

“Atiku is the most unqualified person to lecture the Tinubu administration on probity,” the statement read.

The group praised the government’s record allocation to the health sector, highlighting the significant increase in funding compared to previous budgets – N2.48 trillion proposed for 2025, far exceeding allocations in 2023 and 2024.

They praised Health Minister Professor Muhammad Ali Pate and urged the ministry to ensure that the funds are used efficiently to benefit Nigerians.

TMSG concluded by dismissing Atiku’s statement as a “cheap potshot” and a self-inflicted wound, thereby exposing the PDP’s own flaws.

They advocated for recognition of the current administration’s commitment to healthcare rather than unjustified criticism.
