Rivers State Celebrates Hon. Osima Ginah’s 60th Birthday With Lavish Book Launch, Symposium

Port Harcourt, Rivers State – A large crowd of political figures, business leaders, and community members gathered in Port Harcourt to commemorate the 60th birthday of Hon. Osima Ginah, a prominent figure in Rivers State politics and governance.

The week-long celebration culminated on January 15th, 2025, with a grand book launch and symposium at the Los Angeles Kings Event Centre.

The event drew a diverse audience, including government officials, traditional rulers, academics, lawyers, and religious leaders.

The guest list included notable figures such as FCT Minister Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike (represented by Barr. Boma Iyaye, Director of Finance at the NDDC), Chief Ferdinand Anabraba, Senator Magnus Abe, former Rivers State Commissioner for Justice Mr. Zacheaus Adango, members of the National Assembly, former Deputy Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly Hon. Dumle Moal, and many former colleagues of Hon Ginah.

The book launch, chaired by Chief O.C.J. Okocha, SAN, marked the release of “THE AUDACITY & INSCRUTABILITY OF OSIMA GINAH ESQ, FCIM JP,” a biography of Hon. Ginah’s life and career.

Prof. Kaniye Ebeku, a former Rivers State Commissioner for Education, praised the book as a comprehensive historical account, comparing it to Barack Obama’s “Audacity of Hope.”
During his remarks, Chief Okocha described Hon. Ginah as a determined and strong-willed individual.

The festivities began with a thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s African Church Cathedral, followed by a community crusade/revival program and a unique football competition among six central group communities.

In addition, forty petty traders from these communities received N50,000 each as part of an empowerment initiative.

Hon. Osima Ginah thanked all attendees, particularly Chief Nyesom Wike, Chief O.C.J. Okocha, SAN, and a number of other dignitaries, for their presence and support.

The biography’s author, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, an APC chieftain, also thanked Hon. Ginah and others who helped create the book, including Prince Tonye Princewill, who wrote the foreword.
