Governor Otti Assures Nsulu Communities Of Harmonious Partnership On Airport Project
Umuahia– Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to a collaborative partnership with the Nsulu communities in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area regarding the development of the proposed Nsulu Airport.
This assurance came following a high-level meeting held Thursday at the Government House in Umuahia between state government representatives and the Nsulu Airport Communities’ Landowners Forum.

The meeting, attended by Governor Otti’s Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, representing the Governor, marked a significant step in ongoing dialogue aimed at fostering mutual understanding and ensuring the smooth execution of the airport project.
Pastor Ajagba emphasised that the meeting was a continuation of Governor Otti’s proactive community engagement strategy, reflecting a commitment to transparent and inclusive governance.
“This engagement is not a one-off event,” Pastor Ajagba stated. “Governor Otti has consistently reiterated his desire for open communication and collaboration with all stakeholders.
“He is committed to ensuring that the concerns of the Nsulu communities are addressed throughout the entire project lifecycle.”
Details emerging from the meeting revealed that several key agreements were reached between the state government and the Nsulu landowners.
A crucial element of these agreements centres on employment opportunities.
Governor Otti, through his representative, confirmed that indigenes of Nsulu will receive priority consideration for jobs once the airport construction is complete.
Furthermore, the Governor categorically stated that the project would not be abandoned, reiterating the administration’s firm resolve to see it through to fruition.
The Chief of Staff also conveyed the Governor’s profound gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for securing the airport project for Abia State. He extended special thanks to the sons and daughters of Nsulu who have demonstrated unwavering support and cooperation with the state government’s plans.
This collaborative spirit, he highlighted, is essential to the successful realisation of this landmark project.
Responding on behalf of the Nsulu Airport Communities’ Landowners Forum, Rt. Hon. Uzo Azubuike expressed immense satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting.
He commended Governor Otti’s administration for its commitment to open dialogue and its recognition of the community’s vital role in the airport project’s success.
The positive tone of the statement suggests a strong foundation for continued cooperation between the state government and the Nsulu communities.
The meeting underscores the Abia State government’s dedication to transparency and community engagement in major infrastructural projects.
The successful negotiation of agreements and the assurances given regarding employment opportunities represent a significant step towards ensuring the smooth implementation of the Nsulu Airport project and fostering a positive relationship between the government and the host communities.
The ongoing engagement promised by the Governor signals a long-term commitment to collaborative development and mutual benefit.
