Hon. Satomi Distributes Wheat To Flood-Affected Constituents In Borno
Maiduguri, Borno State – Hon. Ahmed Satomi, the Member representing Jere Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has commenced the distribution of 25 kilogrammes bags of wheat to over 5,600 residents affected by the recent floods in Maiduguri and its environs.
The initiative aims to alleviate the hardship faced by those displaced by the floods, which submerged half of Jere local government and left over a million people homeless.
Satomi, who chairs the House Committee on Internal Security and Intelligence, has previously donated N200 million to the Borno State Government’s relief efforts and distributed N100 million in cash to flood victims within his constituency.
The wheat being distributed is sourced from Satomi Integrated Farms Limited and is being delivered to “Satomi Campaign Structures,” including ward coordinators and unit structures who played a vital role in the 2023 general elections, along with other APC supporters and flood victims across Jere’s 12 wards.
“This is a trying moment for us,” said Satomi, acknowledging the recent economic hardship faced by Nigerians.
“I personally lost 2,000 hectares of my rice field around the Jere Bowl. But I urge you to take it as an act of God Almighty. I will continue to give you my maximum support economically or otherwise.”
Hon. Abba Kyari, the Member Representing Jere at the Borno State House of Assembly, expressed gratitude for Satomi’s continuous support to the people of Jere, highlighting over 27 people-oriented interventions carried out by the lawmaker in the past year.
These include the distribution of vehicles, irrigation and water pump machines, skills acquisition kits, fertilizers, food and non-food items, and cash assistance, regardless of political affiliation or ethnicity.
Kyari urged the beneficiaries to continue supporting the APC government, which is committed to achieving lasting peace and development in the state.
