NDDC Warns Against Internship Scheme Scam, Says No Payment Requests Yet
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has issued a strong warning to all Nigerian youths to avoid falling victim to a fraudulent scheme spreading on social media.
The scam involves fake messages claiming that beneficiaries of the NDDC Youth Internship Scheme can now submit their account information to receive their monthly N50,000 stipend.
This is a complete fabrication. The NDDC stated that it has not released a list of beneficiaries nor has it requested any account information.
The Commission is currently in the final stages of selecting candidates for the internship program, which began on August 5th and will end on August 31st, 2024.
Seledi Thompson-Wakama, Director of Corporate Affairs, stated on October 3rd, 2024, condemning the fraudulent activities and urging young people to be vigilant.
She emphasised that the NDDC is committed to transparency and fairness in all of its activities, including youth empowerment programs, and that the selection process is being carried out with due diligence.
Here is what you should know:
The NDDC has not requested account information from any youth for the internship program.
The final list of beneficiaries will be made available through official NDDC channels.
Do not give your personal information to any person or platform claiming to be affiliated with the NDDC internship program.
