Over 30,000 youths from the Niger Delta region, led by their leaders, have gathered for a significant event and urged the people of the region to avoid protests ahead of October 1, assuring that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration will address the region’s challenges.

The youths revealed this after a three-day stakeholders’ forum held in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State.

Addressing the youths earlier, Dr. Dennis Burutu Otuaro, Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), revealed that the Federal Government has awarded the contract for the rehabilitation of the East-West Road to a Chinese construction company, adding that work will soon begin.

Dr. Otuaro urged the region’s residents to resist any calls to protest, emphasising that the Niger Delta’s peace and stability are in their hands.
