Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, a New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) chieftain, business magnate, and philanthropist, has used Isese Day to preach religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence among adherents of various religions.

According to Ajadi, all religions affirm the existence of one God, a Supreme Being known by various names among religious adherents.

It should be noted that four South West Governors, namely Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, and Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, have declared today, Thursday, as a public holiday to commemorate Isese Day.

A day set aside to commemorate and celebrate the Yoruba traditional religion and its adherents.

In a release signed and made available to the media, Ajadi stated that all religions believe in one God and urged Yoruba people and the country as a whole to live in peace with one another.

Ajadi praised the Yoruba people for their religious tolerance, stating that only in Yorubaland do adherents of various religions tolerate one another and live in peace.

“All religions preach peace and abhor violence. As adherents of these religions, we must embrace peace.

“We must live in peace, as all religions preach. We should be tolerant of one another, regardless of our religious beliefs. Our nation’s survival and unity rely on a peaceful existence.

“I am baffled when people fight over religion; no religion taught us to be violent. Peace is central to all religions. We worship the same God but in different ways.

“As a result, I urge our politicians to stop using religion to divide people for personal gain.
