Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Governor of Imo State, has appointed Mr. Emmanuel Amuneke, a well-known football administrator and tactician, as Technical Manager of Heartland Football Club in Owerri, Imo.

He did so on Monday (August 5, 2024) at the New Executive Council Chambers, Government House Owerri, where he stated that the goal was to “reposition the Heartland Football Club for a brighter future to the happiness of Imo people, particularly football enthusiasts.”

The Governor recalled that when his administration took office in 2020, it met a relegated Heartland Football Club and worked tirelessly to restore it to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPF).

He regrets that recent events show that the Football Club has gone back to the drain, and can only come back to life by reorganising the administrative structure and repositioning the management and technical team of the Club.
