Governor Uzodimma Reasserts Commitment To State’s Prosperity, Denies Breaching Covenant With God
Owerri, Imo State – Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has reiterated his dedication to the state’s development, asserting that he remains committed to his covenant with God.
Speaking at a Pontifical High Mass celebrating the Feast of Christ the King at the Government House Chapel on Sunday, Governor Uzodimma addressed recent challenges and reaffirmed his vision for a prosperous Imo State.
The Governor stated that his administration is actively working to improve the state’s infrastructure, including power supply, roads, and other essential services.
He emphasised his desire to leave a lasting legacy, focusing on sustainable development and improved living standards for Imo citizens.
He specifically mentioned his ambition for Imo State to be remembered for its provision of quality education, healthcare, and sustainable infrastructure, rather than for internal conflicts.
Governor Uzodimma explicitly denied any breach of a personal covenant with God, stating that his actions are aligned with his commitment to bringing prosperity and restoring the dignity of the Imo people.
He cited Imo State’s recent success in the National Digital Skill-up programme in Abuja as evidence of his administration’s progress.
He further challenged anyone with evidence of wrongdoing to come forward, confidently declaring his intention to leave office with a clear conscience and without fear of any repercussions.
The Governor expressed gratitude for the public’s continued support amidst recent federal government policy changes and their consequences.
He assured the people that his government is actively working to mitigate these effects and build a better future for Imo State.
The Mass was well-attended, with prominent figures including the Deputy Governor, Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, members of the State Executive Council, traditional rulers, and other dignitaries present.
Auxiliary Bishop of Orlu Catholic Diocese, Bishop Thomas Obiatuegwu, delivered a homily emphasizing the teachings of Jesus Christ and the importance of love and service.
