Governor Obaseki Mourns As Arise News Anchor Loses Father
Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has expressed condolences to ace broadcaster and Arise News anchor Suleiman Aledeh on the death of his father, Alhaji Amedu Aledeh.
According to him, as a pioneer staff member of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), the late Pa Aledeh established a reputation for excellence, serving with dedication and grace until his voluntary retirement and making significant contributions to the development of the healthcare sector.
In a personally signed condolence message with Ref. No. OG.7/VOL.2/892, the Governor described Pa Aledeh as “virtuous and diligent.”
He wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that I mourn the passing of Pa Alhaji Amedu Aledeh, a devout family man and great community leader who lived an exemplary and fulfilled life. A hard-working man, Pa Aledeh demonstrated compassion and courage in equal measure and aligned with causes that sought the best outcomes for the people.
“He was also honest in his dealings and remained true to his convictions. As pioneer staff of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), the late Pa Aledeh maintained a reputation for excellence, serving with dedication and grace until his voluntary retirement and contributing greatly to the expansion of the healthcare sector.
“The late Pa Aledeh was brave, kindhearted, and cerebral, and he instilled these qualities in his children, including Sulaiman, a veteran broadcaster and Arise News anchor, and all others who studied under him.
“He will be remembered for his wise counsel, dedication to excellence, and adherence to noble ideals.” I sympathise with the Aledeh family and pray that God gives them the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
Pa Aledeh, of Agbede in Edo State’s Etsako West Local Government Area, is survived by his children and many grandchildren.
