Otti, Sanwo-Olu, Obaseki Amongst Early Arrivals At Abeokuta For Southern Governors Forum Meeting

No fewer than ten governors have arrived in Abeokuta, Ogun State, to attend the Southern Governors’ Forum meeting.
The meeting is taking place at the Presidential Lodge, Ibara Housing, Abeokuta.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Chairman of the Southwest Governors’ Forum, led the pack of early callers to the meeting.

Also in attendance are Deputy Governors Chinyere Ekomaru (Imo), Monday Onyeme (Delta), and Olayide Adelami (Ondo).
Governors from all seventeen southern states are expected to attend the meeting.
According to the Daily Trust, the agenda for the convergence has yet to be announced, but the Southern Governors are meeting for the first time since the death of Rotimi Akeredolu, former Governor of Ondo State and forum chairman.
The forum has not elected a new chairman since Akeredolu died in December 2023.
According to Daily Trust, Akeredolu’s replacement may be revealed at the end of the meeting.
