After 8 Weeks, 287 Abducted Kaduna Schoolchildren Rescued In Zamfara
The Kaduna State Government has announced the release of 287 Kuriga School students kidnapped by bandits on March 7.
Gov. Uba Sani, who made the announcement in a statement issued on Sunday in Kaduna, said, “Our special gratitude goes to our dear President, Bola Tinubu, for prioritising Nigerians’ safety and security, particularly ensuring that the abducted Kuriga schoolchildren are released unharmed.
“I spoke with the President several times while the schoolchildren were in captivity. He empathised with us, consoled us, and worked tirelessly to ensure the children’s safety.
“A special mention must also be made of our dear brother, National Security Adviser Malam Nuhu Ribadu, for his exemplary leadership.
“I spent sleepless nights with Malam Ribadu fine-tuning strategies and coordinating security agency operations, which led to this successful outcome.”
Sani also commended the Nigerian Army for demonstrating that with courage, determination, and commitment, criminal elements can be degraded and security restored in our communities.
The governor also thanked all Nigerians who had prayed for the schoolchildren’s safe return.
Sani stated, “Today is a joyful day. We give all glory to Almighty Allah.
Recall that on March 7, around 8.20 a.m., the bandits stormed LGEA Teachers Primary School in Kuriga, Chikun LGA, abducting 287 students and teachers.
