2023: Elect Competent Leaders Who Will Be Accountable, NPA Urges Electorate
The Nigeria People Alliance (NPA) has called on Nigerians to seize the opportunity of the coming general elections next year to elect competent leaders who will be accountable to all Nigerians and not just a privileged select few.
NPA which is led, Hon. Cliff Otubu made the call in a statement while felicitating with Nigerians at home and in the diaspora on the 62nd Independence, it thereby urged Nigerians to embrace love, unity and peace as they commemorate the anniversary.
In a statement signed by the group’s secretary, Sunday Egbo, NPA is a socio-economic and political pressure group made up of Nigerians resident in the United States of America, that promotes unity and progress of all Nigerians as well as the principles of wealth creation, social justice, accountable political leadership and economic development in the country.
He noted that Nigeria is a multi-ethnic, multicultural and multi-religious people, and that our diversity should make us strong instead of divide us.
“We must not allow divisions along ethnic lines and bad governance deny us our democratic rights to remain lawful citizens and to contribute our quota to making Nigeria the giant of Africa a great nation.
“The true power of our nation remains with the citizenry and must be used wisely and honestly for the betterment of our yet unborn generations.
The group further pleaded with Nigerians to reflect on the significance of our Independence day and recommit to the virtues of our founding fathers for the benefit of our dear country Nigeria.
It reiterated that if we all do the needful, the labour of heroes’ past will never be in vain.
