AANI Mourns Shonekan, Says He Bequeathed A Worthy Legacy
The Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) Lagos Chapter has commiserated with the Shonekan family and Nigerians over the death of former head of the Interim National Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan, who died last week in Lagos aged 85.
In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Omoba Tunde Ajibulu, mni the association described the death of Shonekan as a great loss to the country.
They also described the departed leader as a respected elder statesman with worthy and commendable records in the nation’s history.
“We commiserate with Nigerians and the Shonekan family over the demise of an illustrious statesman. We, however, take solace in the fact that the deceased lived a fruitful life and bequeathed a worthy legacy to the younger generation”.
” We pray to the Almighty God to repose the soul of the late Shonekan and comfort all those that mourn him.”
