Peter Obi Lauds Dame Irene Okwuosa Memorial Hospital As Beacon Of Hope For Nigerian Healthcare
Oraifite, Anambra State – Former Vice Presidential candidate and Labour Party leader, Peter Obi, has lauded the Dame Irene Okwuosa Memorial Hospital in Oraifite as a beacon of hope for quality healthcare in Nigeria.
During a visit to the state-of-the-art facility today, Obi expressed his admiration for the hospital’s commitment to providing quality healthcare services, particularly in the area of cardiovascular diseases.
Obi, who was the Labour Party presidential candidate in 2023 election, was particularly impressed by the hospital’s impressive track record, which includes the successful completion of 117 open-heart surgeries, 2 vascular surgeries, and 10 interventional cardiology procedures.
He commended the dedication and expertise of the medical team, highlighting their significant contribution to improving lives and fostering a healthier society.
“The story of this hospital is one of vision and compassion,” Obi remarked, referencing its foundation by the Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation in collaboration with the VOOM Foundation.
He praised the dedication of the founders for transforming a small health center into a world-class facility.
Obi was further moved by the hospital’s commitment to offering free services for children and subsidized care for adults, a gesture he described as commendable in these challenging economic times.
He stressed that this reflected the hospital’s dedication to its mission and their compassionate spirit.
Obi’s visit included a tour of the hospital’s facilities, where he was impressed by the world-class standards and the hospital’s role as a hub of medical excellence attracting medical professionals from across the country.
