Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, a leading engineering and construction firm, celebrated Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage on its annual Cultural Day.
This vibrant event, held simultaneously across all regional offices and sites, served as a powerful reminder of the importance of cultural diversity in fostering peaceful coexistence and driving socio-economic growth.
From the vibrant attire to the diverse dances and delectable traditional foods, the atmosphere was alive with the spirit of unity in diversity.
Staff, both Nigerian and expatriate, proudly showcased the richness of their heritage, representing the various tribes and cultures that make up Nigeria’s unique tapestry.
In Abuja, the Head of Human Resources, Olorunfemi Ojomo, emphasized the significance of the event, stating: “Beyond the colorfulness, this event is a testament to the power of celebrating our differences.
“It is through our diversities that we find strength and unity, and at Julius Berger, we are committed to harnessing this strength to build a stronger future.”
Echoing this sentiment, Project Manager Rivers/Bayelsa, Finn Drosdowski, at the Port Harcourt site, highlighted the potential of cultural diversity for progress and development.
“Nigeria’s rich and diverse cultures are a source of strength and unity,” he said, encouraging staff to “join hands to move the nation and company forward.”
The spirit of togetherness and harmony permeated the celebrations at all sites. Staff, expatriates, and Nigerian workers alike engaged in lively conversations, shared stories, and danced to traditional music, relishing the opportunity to connect and celebrate their shared heritage.
The air buzzed with excitement, camaraderie, and a genuine appreciation for Nigeria’s vibrant cultural landscape.
Julius Berger’s Cultural Day is more than just a celebration; it is a testament to the company’s commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion and diversity.
It serves as a powerful reminder that our differences are not a source of division, but rather a source of strength and richness.
By embracing our diverse cultures, we build stronger communities, foster greater understanding, and create a more harmonious and prosperous future for all.
