KIDNAPPING: A 5 Day-Old-Baby, Mother, 18 Others Regain Freedom From Abductors
Katsina State Government has received twenty kidnapped victims including a five-day-old baby girl who escaped after five months in the hands of their Kidnappers.
The escapees include five nursing mothers, their infants, a young man and nine children between the ages rang 4-10 years following an airstrike on their abductors’ den in Zamfara forest.
Receiving them on behalf of Governor Aminu Bello Masari at the State Pilgrims Camp, the Secretary to the Government of the State, SGS, Alhaji Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa expressed delight over their rescue.
He immediately directed the Medical Team from the State Primary Healthcare Service to re-examine their condition and ensure their safe return to their families at Katoge Community, Batsari LGA.
The SGS also directed the Permanent Secretary Cabinet and Security to provide financial support while SEMA should provide them some food items to cushion their hardships.
Fielding questions from Journalists, Inuwa attributed the rescue of the victims to the current military operations and the stringent containment measures adopted by the affected States in the North West.
He however urged the Federal Government to order for similar operations taking place in Zamfara forest to be carried out simultaneously in all the affected States.
The SGS also called on the people to be patient with the measures adopted by the state government and always provide the security agencies with useful information to end the menace.
At the time of filing this report, the spokesman of the SGS, Abdullahi Yar’Adua said all the victims have since been reunited with their families.
