Peter Obi’s Speeches Decorate Nigerians with The Medal of Peace, Unity
By Chukwudimma Aaron-Okonkwo
One of the befitting characteristics that make one very presidential to lead a multi-ethnic nation like Nigeria is the manner in which such an individual addresses his fellow countrymen and women. So far, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate who was dubiously placed third in the outcome of the last presidential election has been showing Obidient Nigerians not only positive leadership but also exemplary steps toward reclaiming his stolen mandate for a New Nigeria.
This is unlike some people who boasted via speaking in a vernacular that it is their turn to lead the dear people of Nigeria. And for them too, such turn must never be through passing the legitimate processes, but rather “at all costs, fight for it, grab it, snatch it and run with it!”. A so-called ‘president-elect’ since March 1st when INEC selected him as the “winner” has not come out in the face of the current socioeconomic turmoil that is deviling the people for which he sought to lead to calm down frayed nerves.
Of course, for the “turn” man equally alleged to have dual citizenship, the people that rejected him at the polls should “go to court” and perish their grievances there because the judiciary, he must have believed, is already in his pocket. Yet, on one side, in spite of the unwarranted provocations to his supporters and himself by the old order, HE Peter Obi has continued to decorate all law-abiding and peace-loving Nigerians with the golden medal of peace and unity through simple, appealing addresses. No doubt, with Obi and Datti, a New Nigeria is Possible!
