Pisa Coach Confirms Akinsanmiro’s Inclusion In Super Eagles’ AFCON 2025 Final Squad
Pisa SC manager Alberto Gilardino has confirmed that Ebenezer Akinsanmiro has been named in Nigeria’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Akinsanmiro has been impressive this season for Pisa, where he is currently on loan from Inter Milan.
The 21-year-old was anticipated to be included in the Super Eagles’ squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup African playoffs last month, but an injury prevented his participation. He made his return in Pisa’s 1-0 home loss to Parma on Monday, coming on for Marius Marin at the start of the second half.
Gilardino revealed that Akinsanmiro will join the Super Eagles’ camp following Friday’s clash with Lecce. “Akinsanmiro? After Lecce (on December 12), he’ll miss several matches,” Gilardino stated, as reported by FC Inter1908. The Super Eagles will begin their camp for AFCON 2025 next Monday.
