Access Holdings’ ‘Walk Against Cancer,’ Thousands Expected To Join Movement
A groundswell of support is building online and on the ground as Access Holdings Plc prepares to host its highly anticipated “Access Walk Against Cancer” tomorrow, October 25, 2025.
The event, designed to raise awareness and promote early detection of breast cancer, has ignited a viral movement, attracting thousands of participants from across Nigeria and beyond.
The hashtag #AccessWalkAgainstCancer is currently trending worldwide as social media users share their personal stories, motivations for participating, and messages of support. Celebrities, influencers, and everyday citizens alike are using the hashtag to amplify the message of early detection and the importance of preventative healthcare.
What started as a company-wide initiative has exploded into a nationwide phenomenon. Pictures and videos of elaborate costumes, team registrations, and heartfelt dedications are flooding social media feeds, showcasing the power of collective action.
The walk, scheduled to begin at Access Towers and traverse to Muri Okunola Park and back, has captured the attention of major news outlets, further amplifying the reach of the campaign.
“We are absolutely overwhelmed and humbled by the incredible response to the Access Walk Against Cancer,” stated Esther Graham, Programme Manager, Health, Access Holdings.
“The outpouring of support truly demonstrates the power of community and the shared commitment to fighting this devastating disease. We never imagined it would resonate on this scale.”
The event promises more than just a walk. In partnership with the Hacey Health Initiative and the Sebeccly Cancer Support Centre, the walk will offer free health screenings to over 300 women, providing vital access to early detection services.
Participants can also look forward to engaging in games, exciting prizes, and a range of wellness activities designed to foster a sense of community and encourage healthy lifestyles.
The viral success of the Access Walk Against Cancer highlights the urgent need for increased awareness and access to resources in the fight against breast cancer.
With participants walking in memory of loved ones, in support of survivors, and in solidarity with the cause, the event is a powerful reminder that collective action can make a significant difference.
While registration for the walk itself is now closed, the movement continues to grow online. Access Holdings encourages everyone to join the conversation using #AccessWalkAgainstCancer and to learn more about breast cancer prevention and early detection resources.
This is more than just a walk; it’s a movement. And it’s just getting started.
