Isiala Ngwa Federal Constituency will shut down on Saturday, May 31, 2025. It is all good. The historic ceremony, which promises to bring together lovers of quality jobs from all parties in the Isiala Ngwa Federal Constituency and beyond, will begin at 12 p.m. at the SamIhesinulo Stadium in Okpuala Ngwa, the headquarters of the Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area. Chief (Sir) Obinna Anaba of Okpongedenge Ndi Ngwa presided over the event.

Without a doubt, Governor Alex Otti’s midterm scorecard is a harvest of unprecedented accomplishments that have never been seen in the state in recent years. His accomplishments include infrastructure renewal, social investment, institutional reforms, human capital development, enhanced security architecture, strategic reputation building, and much more.

Governor Alex Otti’s performance signature is most visible in his efforts to renew and transform the infrastructure. The physical landscape of the state has been dramatically altered by the construction and reconstruction of a massive network of roads across the state’s three senatorial districts.

Governor Alex Otti’s caterpillar revolution began with the widening of Ossah Road in Umuahia to a six-lane boulevard. The boulevard has since been commissioned, much like the Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Akara-Abiriba Road, which was recently inaugurated by former President Olusegun Obasanjo. The most significant of all the roads completed is the soon-to-be-commissioned Port Harcourt Road in Aba.

The 5:8-kilometer road, which was previously an eyesore, was reconstructed to modern standards by Julius Berger and is now renowned as the headquarters of fabrication and foundry in the Southeast geopolitical zone. The tremendous transformations in the state, particularly in Aba, the Southeast’s business hub, demonstrate the effectiveness of Governor Otti’s New Abia Mantra.

Governor Alex Otti has made indelible contributions to the state’s economy in health, education, agriculture, SME, sports, and waste management, just as he has in road infrastructure. The Otti administration is also credited with attracting foreign investment, diversifying the economy, and paying civil servants and pensioners on time.

Another advantage of Governor Alex Otti’s administration is that her development efforts are cross-sectional and equitable. For the record, Otti’s pragmatic administration has benefited the two local governments that make up the Isiala Ngwa Federal Constituency the most. The Abia International Airport project, for example, is located on Nsulu territory. Active reconstruction work is in progress on the Ntigha-Nbawsi-Umuala Road.

Similarly, reconstruction work on the Okpuala Ngwa-Obikabia-Umuene Road and the Umuehim-Okpokiri-Umunkpehi Road is progressing well. Dualiazation of the Owerrinta-Umuikea-Umuoha Road is moving quickly. Owerrinta also hosts the state’s first one-stop medical village.

It is for these reasons and more that the elated indigenes of Isiala Ngwa North/South local government areas, united under the banner of the Oha Isiala Ngwa People, are celebrating their worthy son, Governor Alex Chioma Otti, who has redefined and is still rewriting the narrative of state governance for the better over the last two years.
It would not be surprising if the good people of the Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency used the forum to renew their demands on Governor Otti for more projects to be located in the constituency.

Regardless, honouring an altruistic, pragmatic, visionary, and performance-oriented leader such as Governor Alex Otti is not only well-deserved, but also a celebration of excellence. Invariably, the people of Isiala Ngwa Federal Constituency vote their confidence in Governor Otti through this grand civic reception/appreciation ceremony. More importantly, the gathering is designed to provide a forum for the people of Isiala Ngwa Federal Constituency to renew and pledge their loyalty, solidarity, and support for Governor Alex Chioma Otti’s second term bid in 2027.
