Insurance Icon Dr. Daniel Okehi, Celebrates 70th Birthday With Book Launch, Thanksgiving

Dr. Daniel Okehi, a well-known figure in Nigeria’s insurance and financial sectors, will commemorate his 70th birthday with a series of events culminating in the public release of four new books on May 10, 2025.

The book launch is part of a larger celebration of Dr. Okehi’s groundbreaking career spanning four decades.

The four books, “Heirs of Righteousness,” “Realities of God’s Grace,” “Jesus, the Game Changer,” and “Transformal and Compelling Leadership,” are expected to shed light on Dr. Okehi’s personal beliefs, leadership philosophy, and professional expertise.

The public presentation will be held at the Muson Centre in Onikan, Lagos, with Major General Ike Nwachukwu chairing the event.

A special thanksgiving service will take place on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at the Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) International Headquarters in Anthony Oke, Gbagada, Lagos.

Dr. Okehi earned a Bachelor of Science in Insurance and a Master’s degree in Management from the University of Lagos.

He is an experienced leader and lifelong learner, a graduate of the Lagos Business School’s Chief Executive Programme (CEP5), and a Fellow of several prestigious organisations, including the Chartered Insurance Institute (London and Nigeria), the Council of Registered Insurance Brokers of Nigeria, and the Enterprise Risk Management Association of Nigeria.

His academic pursuits culminated in a PhD in Management from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, where he conducted research on “Modelling Risk Management in Banks: Examining Why Banks Fail.”

He is also the author of numerous influential works, including the aforementioned research and the “Creator of the Brickred Banking Risk Software (BBRS), an innovative tool revolutionising risk management in banking operations.”

Dr. Okehi also won first prize in the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria’s inaugural essay competition and has written extensively on insurance marketing.

In addition to his writing and academic contributions, Dr. Okehi serves on the Council of the Enugu State University of Technology Business School (ESUT), where he lectures on Risk Management.

Dr Okehi’s career has been defined by his leadership in transformative projects and consulting roles that have re-engineered Nigeria’s banking and insurance processes.

He previously worked as a consultant for the National Insurance Commission on Energy Insurance and as Chairman of Rehoboth Microfinance Bank Limited.

He is currently the Chairman of Brickred Consult Limited, a leading consultancy firm specialising in leadership training, finance risk management, and oil and gas insurance underwriting, as well as the Managing Director and CEO of Brickred Insurance Brokers, an international broking firm headquartered in Lagos.

Dr. Okehi is a dedicated leadership coach who advocates for transformational and compelling leadership and organisations.

He’s a Deacon with the Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) Headquarters in Lagos, is married to Audrey and has children.
