ENWAF Celebrates 32 Widows In Ogu Community On Second Anniversary

The Eunice Nnachi Women Advocacy Foundation (ENWAF) celebrated its second anniversary with a heartwarming outreach event for 32 widows in Ogu Community, Yenagoa Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, yesterday.

The event, coinciding with International Women’s Day, brought together widows for a day of empowerment, support, and celebration at the Ogu Community Town Hall.

ENWAF’s founder and CEO, Lady Eunice Nnachi, highlighted the foundation’s two-year commitment to improving the lives of women and girls through initiatives focused on economic empowerment, gender equality, and support for vulnerable women.

“ENWAF is designed to add value to women and the society at large. Our aim is to empower women to be self-reliant and to build the next generation of women leaders,” Lady Nnachi stated.

The celebration featured lively activities, including dancing and eating competitions, designed to uplift the spirits of the participants.

Each widow received essential items, including hand towels, Maggi seasoning, tomatoes, and other daily necessities.

ENWAF reaffirmed its dedication to reaching out to women and girls, focusing on crucial areas like education, healthcare, and psychological support.

The outreach was met with strong support from various stakeholders. Mrs. Grace Iyabi,

Chairperson of the Women Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN), praised ENWAF’s contributions to women’s socioeconomic development in the state.

Mrs. Tare Amananagha, Team Lead of Fringe Voices, encouraged the widows to continue their vital role in caring for their families. Lady Blessing Nwanemim,

Program Manager of Voice of the Ijaw Girl Child Foundation, emphasized their organization’s focus on advocacy against gender-based violence, promoting children’s rights, and empowering women.

Chief Simanyi Meniwoze, welcoming the foundation to the community, expressed gratitude for ENWAF’s efforts and offered prayers for their continued success in achieving their goals.

The event was attended by ENWAF’s team, volunteers, representatives from civil society groups, and supporters.
