Beyond the celebratory message, Chief Eze took the opportunity to express serious concerns about Nigeria’s current state of governance under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He urged the Muslim faithful, and indeed all Nigerians, to intensify their prayers for the country’s leaders, specifically Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, in order for him to navigate the state’s political challenges.

Eze painted a harsh picture of the current administration, claiming “maladministration and constitutional aberration” and pleading for divine intervention to prevent further deterioration.

He urged Nigerians to pray for President Tinubu, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House Tajudeen Abbas, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, and other key administration officials.

“The way and manner in which President Tinubu and his men are ruling this country calls for our prayers and God’s special intervention,” Eze stated.

“As we celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, let us pray to God to redirect President Tinubu and his cabinet from the path of derailing Nigeria’s democracy through unconstitutional acts and bad administration, to the glorious path of good democratic governance, anchored on rule of law and respect for Nigeria’s constitution.”

Eze emphasised the importance of divine guidance in rebuilding Nigeria, citing the current challenges of national growth, economic prosperity, and unity.

He accused the administration of “throwing caution to the wind, trampling on Nigerians’ constitutional rights, and hoodwinking the Judiciary into doing their bidding, forgetting that power is transitory.”

The APC Chieftain specifically cited President Tinubu’s “illegal and infamous state of emergency and suspension of a democratically elected Governor of Rivers State,

Siminalayi Fubara, and the State Assembly,” as a prime example of the administration’s disregard for the constitution.

While no governor or state assembly has been suspended, nor has a state of emergency been declared. He claimed that the events demonstrated personal political power and unconstitutional actions.

“What Nigerians are going through under this administration deserves our prayers for God’s divine intervention and the arrest of these men before they run the country aground,” Eze said, urging citizens to seek divine intervention before the situation deteriorates.

While celebrating Eid-El-Fitr, Chief Eze’s statement reflects a growing concern among some APC members about the Tinubu administration’s direction.

His call for prayer and divine intervention emphasises the perceived need for a course correction in Nigeria to ensure good governance and the rule of law.
