NDDC Celebrates 25 Years Of Service With Amavo Solar Water Project
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) marked its 25th anniversary by highlighting its commitment to the region’s development, showcasing the Amavo community solar-powered water project in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area, Abia State, as a prime example of its ongoing initiatives.
The project, described as a transformative initiative by the NDDC, provides clean drinking water to the Amavo community, addressing both immediate and long-term water needs.
This crucial intervention directly promotes health, fosters economic development, and underscores the commission’s dedication to environmental sustainability, ultimately improving the overall quality of life for residents.
The commission emphasized that the Amavo project is not an isolated case, but rather one among numerous achievements in its 25-year history of serving the Niger Delta region.
The project’s focus on clean water and sustainable energy aligns perfectly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy).
The NDDC stressed its continued dedication to rural development projects that support these global objectives.
This initiative serves as a powerful symbol of the NDDC’s ongoing efforts to uplift communities and contribute to the overall progress of the Niger Delta region.
The commission reiterated its commitment to continuing its work to improve the lives of the people it serves.
