PDP Delta State Denounces ‘Mischievous’ Rumours Of Governor Oborevwori’s Defection
ASABA, DELTA STATE – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State has vehemently dismissed rumours suggesting Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), labeling them as the work of “unemployed political hirelings” and their sponsors.
In a strongly worded statement released today by the state party chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyenka, the PDP described the reports as malicious propaganda spread by “failed agents of destabilisation and betrayal.”
The party categorically stated that those circulating the rumors are impostors and not members of the PDP.
Arenyenka’s statement singled out a key figure behind the rumors, referring to him as a “notorious serial blackmailer and dishonest individual.”
The PDP chairman condemned the individual’s actions in the strongest terms.
The party emphasized that Governor Oborevwori remains firmly committed to the PDP and its agenda.
They reiterated the governor’s dedication to delivering good governance through his M.O.R.E. agenda, citing substantial investments in social infrastructure and human capital development across Delta State as evidence.
The PDP urged the public to disregard the “dubious speculations” and reaffirmed their confidence in Governor Oborevwori’s leadership.
The party’s decisive response appears aimed at quashing any potential impact these rumors might have on public opinion and the stability of the party in the state.
