Zamfara Sees Increased Security As Minister Celebrates Military Success
A massive outpouring of support for former Zamfara State Governor and current Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has highlighted significant improvements in security throughout the state and surrounding areas.
During a recent visit, an estimated 50,000 All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters gathered to greet the Minister, demonstrating the people’s restored confidence.
Dr. Matawalle, who deliberately chose to travel by road rather than air, used the trip to personally boost the morale of Nigerian military personnel stationed along the way.
Checkpoints set up every four kilometres demonstrated the military’s increased efforts to secure the region, effectively combating kidnapping and other violent crimes.
Aliyu Abdullahi, a public analyst, stated that the military presence is palpable.
“The checkpoints every four kilometres have significantly improved security, and people feel much safer while travelling.”
The Minister’s road trip itself represents the improved security situation.
Previously a perilous journey, the route is now deemed safe enough for high-profile figures to travel by road, demonstrating the effectiveness of military operations.
Dr. Matawalle publicly praised the Nigerian military for their unwavering commitment, claiming that their efforts have not only reduced criminal activity but also instilled a renewed sense of hope and stability in Zamfara State and surrounding regions.
He emphasised the armed forces’ sacrifices and reaffirmed the government’s ongoing support for their mission to maintain peace and security.
“Their bravery and dedication are critical in ensuring that Zamfara State continues to progress towards a future marked by safety, prosperity, and unity,” Dr. Matawalle stated.
The positive developments in Zamfara State indicate a significant return to normalcy.
Collaboration among the government, military, and local communities is viewed as critical to maintaining this progress and creating a safer future for all Nigerians.
