The United Kingdom has donated non-lethal military equipment worth up to one billion Naira (£450,000) to Nigeria’s Armed Forces.

This strengthens the ongoing partnership between the British military and the Nigerian Armed Forces. According to a statement, the donation will help Nigeria fight violent extremist organisations in the country’s northeast.

Akande-Alegbe stated that a team of 20 British Army personnel is currently living and working in Maiduguri, delivering a course aimed at improving the critical skills required for continued operations against violent extremist organisations in the North East.
