Infrastructural Development, Agriculture, Energy Security Top Priorities In Yobe/Arab Bank Negotiations
Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has described the negotiations between the state government and the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa as very successful, with enormous potential for the state.
The governor made this assessment on Wednesday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at the end of the meeting between the state government and the bank.
He stated: “We have looked into areas of support and collaboration that will benefit the state and its people.”
He revealed that agriculture, vocational training, infrastructure development, education, healthcare delivery, and energy security were the most important areas of support and collaboration for environmental protection.
Buni stated, “We are passionate about agriculture as our people’s primary concern to improve food sufficiency, food security, and economic development.
“Vocational training for our youth is another critical component of our reconstruction and recovery program for creating job opportunities and economic growth.
“The state government is also committed to improving infrastructure to promote socioeconomic development in our efforts to recover from the insurgency’s devastation,” Governor Buni stated.
He also stated that, despite his administration’s significant investments in education and healthcare delivery, “there is room for improvement, which was tabled for consideration in the partnership.”
Dr. Sidi Ould Tah, President of the bank, expressed his satisfaction with the state government’s efforts to improve people’s lives through the reconstruction, rehabilitation, and recovery program.
“We are impressed with your efforts and commitment to improving the lives of your people, and we are eager to work with your state to build on the progress made,” the president assured.
