Former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) and All Progressives Congress chieftain, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has cautioned Tony Okocha, Chairman of the ousted makeshift Committee of the Rivers APC, over his unrestrained media exploitation of the phrase ‘Chibuike Amaechi’, the distinctive designation of former Transport Minister and ex-Rivers Governor, as a catchphrase for his media push.

Tony Okocha was quoted as saying, “There is an intention to throw up Amaechi’s man, and then he (Amaechi) becomes the APC leader, and then the APC is used to fight Mr President in 2027.” We will never let that happen.” “Beke has shot himself in the foot by also referring to Amaechi as the party’s leader in Rivers and the South-South.” A man who refused to work with President Tinubu as a presidential candidate and instead worked for the opposition.”

In a statement made available to the media, Eze warned Mr. Okocha not to use Amaechi to cash out from his paymasters and their allies, who feel threatened at the mere mention of the name and have been working covertly to make him a target of ridicule through smear campaigns, defamatory insinuations, and calumnies to lower his standing among Nigerians.

Rejecting Okocha’s elusive claim that the former Rivers Governor intends to use the Rivers APC Chairman, Chief Emeka Beke, to fight Tinubu in 2027, Eze reminded the low-brained jobber that the cascade of administrative ineptitude, policy summersaults, and multi-layer corruption that has fanned the embers of hyper-unemployment, insecurity, food price hike, and more from a veritable mountain of weapons with which Nigerians are armed to fight and oust Tinubu from office.

The APC Chief said it is even foolish for a mere mortal like Okocha to be talking about 2027, three years away, when no one knows what will happen in the next minute of his life; as the Bible says in James 4:14, “whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. What purpose does your life serve? It is even a vapour that appears briefly before dissipating.”

Furthermore, Eze urged Okocha and his supporters to consult President Tinubu and those who founded the APC to determine who is truly the leader of the APC in Rivers and South-South, noting that when the APC was formed, Tinubu was named National Leader of the APC while Amaechi was named South South Leader and that despite Buhari’s election as President, Tinubu clung to his position as national leader.

He admonished Okocha and his supporters to be concerned about the fact that the country once known as Africa’s giant has collapsed in all aspects under Tinubu’s watch, and to devote their energies to devising solutions, if any, to the slew of problems they have created that are impeding Nigerian progress.

Eze chastised Okocha for organising a paid protest allegedly in support of Tinubu, which cost over fifty million Naira but had no effect after his ouster by the court, to keep his paymasters happy and continue to curry their favour.

Eze quoted the highly regarded Prof. Maduagu, who, after witnessing the rally, said, “Chief Eze dear, I must confess that your Tony Okocha is truly shameless. What was the purpose of the rally he organised? Rallying support for BAT. What for? “He should see a psychiatrist as soon as possible.”

In response to Prof. Maduagu, Eze stated that Rivers State Governor Fubara recognised Tony Okocha’s mental illness and decided to renovate the psychiatric hospital near his home so that he could be quickly transported to the medical facility for treatment if he began acting strangely.

Eze exposed the plot of a few members of the APC NWC, led by Victor Giadom, to send Tony Okocha to jail by continuing to press him to continue acting as chairman of the APC in defiance of a competent court’s directive, and urged the Rumuigbo boy to watch his back and use a very long spoon while dining with Giadom to avoid regrets.

He reminded Okocha that the judgement delivered by Justice Sika H. Aprioku is comprehensive and covers the field, leaving no room for the appellate Court to overturn given the depth of the reasons given for granting the reliefs sought by the aggrieved party officers.

Simply put, they sought the court’s interpretation of the APC Constitution through an Originating Summons based on their unlawful removal from the various positions to which they were congressionally elected and to which the usurpers claimed title.

The Court determined that Ganduje’s appointment of agent Okocha and his collaborators was illegal and a gross violation of the party’s constitution.

  1. Beyond violating the APC Constitution, the High Court was adamant about the unlawful appointment of a makeshift committee to replace a democratically elected Executive Committee of the State Chapter based on an unsubstantiated allegation of anti-party conduct at the 2023 polls; as such, it was a clear violation of the reinstated party officials’ right to a fair hearing as guaranteed by the Nigerian Constitution and thus cannot stand. This is not the type of judgment that can be overturned on appeal.
